Scrap Club

Scrap Club

“When the klaxon sounds - obliterate everything in sight!”

Have you ever sat in front of a computer and wanted to smash it up? Or a TV, or a cooker, or a car, or a chair...? Scrapclub gives you the chance to do just that!

Rooted in Gustav Metzger’s “Auto-Destructivist” ideas, Scrap Club, run by Wajid Yaseen and Joel Cahen, is the ultimate over-production, over-consumption retaliation machine. During the festival a team of people will be collecting the unrecyclable scrap turned out into local back lanes, a week’s worth of the city’s waste. On Saturday evening Scrap Club opens to the public - and we give you four hours to destroy it all.

We’ll provide the hard hats, the scrap and the tools, you bring the energy, the brawn and the creativity to find new ways to destroy old things.

Once everything has been well and truly smashed up, we’re taking the party up the road to the Star and Shadow. Bring your euphoria and dance your soles off to a night of sound and music made by artists, including the team behind Scrap Club, who bring life to otherwise discarded materials. You can always get some new shoes tomorrow...

If you spy any interesting scrap over the days of Wunderbar, tip us off at ispyscrap@wunderbarfestival.co.uk
